Standard interior construction grade stairsare manufactured with 1" plywood treads, 1/2" plywood risers and 2×10 western stringers. If you are looking for something different that is not listed below in the order form, tell us what you are looking for in Additional Comments and/or upload photos and we will endeavour to make your vision come to life.

How to measure your stair.

Six quick measurements get us most of the way to a quote. Grab a tape, note A–F, and send them with your request.

Total height
Vertical distance from floor to floor, or floor to landing.
B
Headroom height
Vertical distance from the floor to the underside of the floor above, where headroom begins.
C
Total run
Horizontal distance from where the stair starts to where you want it to end.
D
Headroom run
Horizontal distance from the start to any obstruction you could hit your head on coming down.
E
Floor joist
The type or size of floor joist being used (floor thickness).
F
Stair width (RO or OSM)
Total width of the stair. Note whether it’s a finished width (outside-stringer measurement, O.S.M.) or a rough opening without drywall (R.O.).
Two stringer types

Routed or carriage.

Both carry the treads, they just do it differently. Tell us which you want on your order, or ask and we’ll recommend one for your build.

What happens after you submit

We confirm

We review your order and confirm pricing and a firm build slot, usually the same business day.

/ 02

You approve

Approve the number and the date. No deposit is charged until you give the go-ahead.

/ 03

We build

Milled, finished, and installed by the same Calgary crew, on the date we locked in.
